Carolyn Anne Osborne was born Nov. 27, 1957, to Samuel George and Mary Frances (Lantz) Osborne at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. She attended the Iowa Falls Community School District, graduating from the Iowa Falls High School in 1977. She attended Utah State, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa with a goal of a career in ministry.

Her dreams were cut short by mental illness, this lead her to be a major advocate for mental health. Carrie was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Newton. She was a gifted poet, writer, artist and a master of the pun. Despite a lifetime of physical and mental challenges, Carrie had an abiding faith in her Savior Jesus Christ and her wishes were to have everyone celebrate her life and “newfound fun and grace in her eternal life in Heaven with God” and that she is “finally at peace and whole.” The family would like to thank the numerous people that have dedicated part of their life to helping and caring for Carrie.

Those left to cherish the memory of Carolyn Anne Osborne are her parents, Mary and Edward Pieper of Iowa Falls and Samuel George and Liz Osborne of West Branch; her siblings, Frances “Francie” (Randy) Off of Iowa Falls, Leslie (Greg) Horwitz of Carrollton, Texas, Andrew (Renee) Osborne of Coppell, Texas and John (Sherry) Osborne of Grinnell; aunt, Margaret Colbert; uncle, John Lantz; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Carrie was preceded in death by her grandparents; and several aunts and uncles. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa 6 Oct 2017.
