Warrick Mine Open
Warrick Mine 3 miles northwest of Colfax is now open and in operation. Jim Warrick, Allen E. Warrick and O. S. Adams are proprietors. The demand at the mine is so big that they have not yet reached Colfax patrons unless they come for the coal. They need miners and will soon be in shape to increase their output. They have 100 acres of coal with less than 4 acres worked out.
They have hoisting equipment for a large output and will someday have a switch and do business right. They are working the 3d vein, 3.2 thick and when this is gone they have another similar vein below for the next generation. When Colfax coal fails we’ll not be here. The present vein is 80 feet down, the under vein 40 feet deeper.
