HOUGH, TEFFT

Mrs. S. B. Tefft, of Monroe, came over and staid Monday night with her grand-daughter, Mrs. A. M. Hough, and the next morning started for Laramie, Wy. Grandma Tefft is eighty-two years of age – pretty old to venture on such a long journey alone, but she is brave enough to do it all right. Mrs. T. is one of the very early settlers of Jasper county, her home having been nearly a half century near Monroe. Her only son, Amos Tefft, is living in Laramie.
(Abigail Tefft d. Aug. 1, 1898 at the age of 83 yr., 9 mo., 19 days and is buried in Monroe Silent Cemetery with her husband Simon B. Tefft (1810-1855).
