Glenda F. Schroder, 79, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, November 14, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family.

A public visitation will be held from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. A private funeral will be held and will be streamed at https://www.facebook.com/CarsonAndSon/live/. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa.
Masks and social distancing will be required due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Glenda Faye Duncan was born on February 26, 1941 in Springfield, Tennessee to Ira Franklin and Hallie Mae (Wilburn) Duncan. She was a 1959 graduate of Roll High School in Roll, Indiana. She married Ivan Clarence Schroder on October 16, 1960 in Hartford City, Indiana. Five children were born to this union, Lisa, Mark, Sonya, Dan and James.

Glenda had first worked for 3M and Blackford County Hospital while living in Hartford City, Indiana until 1960. She then worked at Jane Lamb Hospital in Clinton, Iowa, and lastly she and her husband had owned and operated IGS Office Supply in Maquoketa until 2011.

Glenda was a member of the Apostolic Gospel Tabernacle Church in Maquoketa where she served as church secretary until 2015. For 28 years she worked alongside her husband who was the Pastor until 2011. She also was involved with Sunday School Camps for many years with United Pentecostal International.

Glenda enjoyed spending time with family, gardening and flowers, birdwatching, and being actively involved with her church.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Rev. Ivan Schroder of Maquoketa, IA; children, Lisa (Kevin) Lex of Hartford City, IN, Mark (Janice) Schroder of Galloway, OH, Sonya (Jim) Jones of Maquoketa, IA, Dan (Jennifer) Schroder of Huntington, IN, and James (Annie) Schroder of Tipton, IA; 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis (Alvin) Maxwell of Cadiz, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers George and Ronald Duncan, sister Brenda Mitchell, and a grandson Lucas Schroder.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Apostolic Gospel Tabernacle Church in Maquoketa.
