Mark A. Streff, 63, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, December 8, 2018 at his home in Maquoketa, Iowa.

Friends and family may gather in remembrance of Mark from 4 to 7 P.M., Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Cremation will follow the gathering and a private burial will be held at a later date at Union Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa.

Mark Alan Streff was born on September 13, 1955 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Richard Norman and Elizabeth Ann (Bohling) Streff. He was a 1974 graduate of Maquoketa High School and a 1976 graduate of Hawkeye Technical Institute in Waterloo, Iowa.

Mark was a freelance graphic artist who had previously worked in Chicago, Illinois, and for Ertl Toy Company in Dyersville, Iowa for many years.

Mark was an avid reader of books, and enjoyed genealogy, volunteering for community activities and computer technology.

Those left to honor Mark's memory include his siblings, Steve (Deb) Streff of Cedar Rapids, IA, Pam (Greg) Clements of Omaha, NE, Amy Streff of Maquoketa, IA, and Lora Reafsnider of Clinton, IA; one aunt, Peg Phillips of Seattle, WA; 7 nephews, 3 nieces, 7 grand-nephews; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Deborah Lorenzen.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Mark Alan Streff memorial fund has been established.
