Obituary for Donald David Jargo
Donald David Jargo, age 91, of Clinton, Iowa passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Alverno in Clinton, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 10, 2018 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston. Burial with military rites will take place in Miles Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Donald was born on the family farm on February 1, 1927, in Miles, Iowa, the son of Harry and Florence (Cook) Jargo. He graduated from Miles High School with the Class of 1944. Donald married Norma Farley and later married Doris (Manning) Cross on August 10, 1957. They celebrated 43 years of marriage until Doris’ passing in 2000. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955.

Donald worked at DJC Application for 15 years in Erie, Illinois. He also worked at International Mineral & Chemical Corporation for 24 years. He was a member of the Miles American Legion. He loved spending time with his family—especially going to baseball games with his grandson, Michael.

Donald will be dearly missed by his son, David (Diane) Jargo of Preston, Iowa; daughter, Kimberly (Rich Tichler) Jargo of Clinton, Iowa; three step-daughters, Donna Current of Camanche, Iowa, Barbara (Donald) Bellmore of Mesa, Arizona, and Mary Jane (Artie) Flynn of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Melvin Jargo of Clinton, Iowa; a great granddog, Beau; and his good friend, Charlie Brown of Erie.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Florence; his wife Doris; two brothers, Herbert and George Jargo; and son-in-law George Current.
