Obituary for Sharon Kay Wade
Sharon Kay Wade, 77, of LaMotte, peacefully passed away, Monday evening, May 7, 2018 at Unity Point-Finley Hospital in Dubuque.

Visitation for Sharon will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, May 10, 2018 at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bellevue. Private family burial will take place in the Bethel Cemetery in Osterdock, Iowa.

Sharon was born on December 11, 1940 in Turkey River, Iowa, the daughter of Emmett and Marguerite (Tomkins) White. She married Fred Wade, On November 15, 1958 in Guttenburg. He passed away on December 27, 2008.

Sharon attended school in Guttenburg, then married and traveled with her husband Fred during his stay in the military. During these years, Sharon and Fred lived in Iowa, Kansas and England. Sharon spent many years as a cook for East Central Schools and was later employed at Metform in Sabula.

Sharon was very passionate about her family and especially cherished spending her time with her granddaughters and great-grandsons. She loved spending holidays baking and bringing her family together. Earlier in life, Sharon could be seen riding her bike around Sabula or working in her garden. Later in life she would spend time playing Solitaire and Yahtzee or challenging her grandkids to board games. Sharon also grew to be quite a hockey fan after watching her granddaughters play and she attended her first NHL hockey game in 2014. Her memory will live on through her loved ones, but she will be deeply missed.

Those left to honor her memory include her son Tray (Stacey) Wade, of West Des Moines; three grandchildren Kayla (Zach) Weis, Hallye and Norah Wade; two great-grandchildren Aiden and Bryce Weis; brother Ronnie (Joyce) White, and sister Janet Lundt.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, daughter Darcy, brothers Jon and Rick, and sister Cookie.
