Obituary for Madonna Rieckens
Madonna Rieckens, 78 of Bellevue, Iowa, passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 at 10:43pm at Quiet Oaks Hospice in St. Cloud, MN, with her family by her side. She struggled with Alzheimers Disease for many years and is finally at peace.

A celebration of Madonna’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 19th at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Belllevue. Visitation for Madonna will be held on Saturday morning prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, at the church.

Madonna was born on Feburary 27, 1939, in Bagley, Wisconsin to Birdie and Willie Cathman. She married William Rieckens on December 15, 1957 in Prairie du Chien, WI. They were happily married for 57 years and had three children, 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Madonna graduated from Bagley High School in 1956. Madonna was employed with Stanley Home Products for fifty plus years. She was a member of the Jackson County Historical Society, Humane Society, active member of the senior center and the St. John’s Lutheran Church. She spent her free time gardening, playing cards, enjoyed coordinating her family reunions and going to and having garage sales.

She is survived by three children, Frederick Rieckens of Iowa City, IA, Faye (Russ) Lidberg of St. Cloud, MN, Lynne Rieckens (Matt Springsteen-Fiance) of St. Cloud, MN. Five grandchildren, William Thomas Rieckens, Alyssa Rieckens, Bradley Lidberg, Jessica Lidberg, and Jordan (Rieckens) Springsteen. One great grandchild, Asher (Rieckens) Frederick. She is also survived by a sister, Rozella Kramer, brother in law Russell Kramer, and three sister in laws, Betty Cathman, Darlene Cathman, Virginia Rieckens and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by parents; her husband William, her 7 seven brothers, 1 sister

Madonna will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandmother and friend.

The family wishes to thank Quiet Oaks Hospice of St. Cloud, MN for the unbelievable care and compassion they provided Madonna the last 10 weeks of her life.
