Dennis D. Duhme, 67, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at his home in Maquoketa, Iowa.

A celebration of Dennis' life will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, March 9, 2018 at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Cremation will follow the visitation. Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.

Dennis Darrell Duhme was born on May 4, 1950 in Savanna, Illinois, to Melvin Arlo and Georgia Carol (Tegmeier) Duhme. He was educated in Andrew Schools for six years prior to moving to Morristown, Minnesota where he graduated from Morristown High School. He married Loly Fajayan on October 7, 1985 in Maquoketa, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Andrew and Alex.

Dennis had farmed and milked cows in the Otter Creek area for many years and also worked in the maintenance department at WALMART in Maquoketa for over 25 years.

Dennis enjoyed fishing and gardening and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Loly Duhme of Maquoketa, IA; children, Andrew (Brandi) Duhme of Blue Grass, IA, and Alex Duhme of Maquoketa, IA; 3 grandchildren, Kaylynn, Korbin and Brylee; brothers, Dale Duhme of Sioux Falls, SD, David (Beverly) Duhme of Morristown, MN, and Mike Duhme of Otter Creek, IA; sisters, Darlene (Steve) Luther of Waseca, MN, and Janice (Toby) Wilke of Maquoketa, IA; and his step-mother, Lois Jean Duhme of Maquoketa, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Dennis D. Duhme memorial fund has been established.
