Obituary for Rosemary Kettmann

Rosemary Kettmann, 86, of Bellevue, died Monday morning, March 5, 2018, at Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, Friday, March 9, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Burial will be held in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for Rosemary will be from 3:00 - 7:00pm Thursday evening at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, in Bellevue and again Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 at the funeral home.

Rosemary was born on December 2, 1931 in St. Donatus, Iowa, daughter of John and Eleanor (Arensdorf) Wieseler. She married Milton Kettmann on November 22, 1948, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Sherrill, Iowa. He passed away January 10, 2002.

Together, Rosemary and Milt farmed and raised their eight children. She was a hard worker and always kept busy. After her last child went to school, she cooked at St. Joseph’s hot lunch. She really enjoyed the kids and worked there for over 13 years. She also cooked at the Bellevue Senior Center and Mill Valley Care Center.

Rosemary’s faith was very important to her, she was generous and prayed for many people over the years. She loved being on the farm and enjoyed cooking and baking. She was known for her Banana Walnut Bread and her Coffee Cakes. She will be deeply missed.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Susie (Kent) Clasen, of Bellevue; six son’s, John (Marilyn), Jim (Nancy), Steve (Jackie), Russ (Dianne) Mike (Dina) and Joe (Carol), all of Bellevue; 21 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren; and brother Lester Motsch, of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Patrick; sister, Rita Werner and three brothers, Fred, Ralph and Kenny Wieseler.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff’s of Mill Valley and Hospice of Jackson County and Sherri Budde, for the special care shown to Rosemary.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Rosemary’s name.
