Obituary for Ardell J. Deppe

Ardell J. Deppe, 92, of Bellevue, died Monday, December 11, 2017, at Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 15, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Burial will be held in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for Ardell will be from
9:00 - 10:30 am Friday morning, prior to the Mass at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, in Bellevue.

Ardell was born on December 8, 1925, in Bellevue, Iowa, son of Louis and Virginia (Kloft) Deppe. He married Lois Haxmeier on October 31, 1948, in St. Donatus.

Ardell was a laid-back, easy going man who enjoyed visiting with anyone. He farmed his entire life west of town on Mill Creek Road. Farming was his life. He enjoyed seeing his son and grandson take an interest in farming and follow in his footsteps.

His spare time was spent trapping and working on antique tractors. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 69 years, Lois Deppe, of Bellevue; a son, Dave (June) Deppe, of Bellevue; two grandchildren, Brian (Tammy) Deppe and Craig Deppe both of Bellevue; and two great grandchildren, Paige and Taylor Deppe.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Luella Hughes and three step-brothers, Cletus, Lester, and Francis Deppe.
