MRS. MARGARET LYNCH

Widow of Late David Lynch of Garry Owen, Died March 31

Mrs. Margaret Lynch, widow of the late David Lynch, of Garry Owen, died Sunday afternoon, March 31, at the family homestead in Butler township.

Mrs. Lynch’s maiden name was Margaret McCarthy, and she was born in Butler township, Jackson county, Iowa, October 26, 1857, and resided all her lifetime in the vicinity of her birth.

She was married to David Lynch, July 16, 1878, at St. Patrick’s church, Garry Owen, by the Rev. Father Kelly.

Ten children were born to them, four sons and six daughters, James D. Lynch and Miss Loretta of Des Moines, Mrs. W. A. Folk and William, of Waterloo, Mrs. William Duggan and Joseph, of Dubuque, Mrs. W. A. Sepka, of Chicago; John, Mrs. Mary McCarthy and Gertrude, at home.

Garry Owen shares with the children and relatives in the loss of this devoted Christian woman, whose exemplary life was an inspiration to the community and whose sterling Catholicity was an unforgettable devotion.

The funeral services will be held at St. Patrick’s church, Garry Owen, Thursday morning, April 4th, Rev. J. P. Connell officiating.

The pallbearers will be her four sons, John, James, William and Joseph and two grandsons, Paul Lynch and J. P. Duggan.
