The will of the late George C. Bradway, a Civil war veteran, who passed away here a short time ago, has just been probated and the terms shows several philanthropic bequests, among which a Maquoketa organization is the beneficiary, or rather will be when the terms of the will are fulfilled. The estate consisted of approximately $9,000, and of this sum $100 was left to the Progressive Thinker, $100 to the National Spiritualistic Association and $300 to the Esgate Cemetery association to be used as a foundation fund for the erection of a small building to be built at Esgate cemetery as a place in which services may be held in inclement weather. If the association has not raised enough funds to complete the work in three years, the money reverts to the estate. The residue is left in a trust fund, the income of which is to go to his nephew, Orizell Robinson of Perry, Ia., and at his death, the fund will pass to the White Cross of this city, providing it incorporates under the state laws. If not, the money will go to the Red Cross chapter of this city. The income from the fund is to be used for poor relief. D. T. Bauman, an attorney of this city was named in the will as executor.
