Millen A. Wiebold Dies at Age of 61; Born in Iowa Twp.
Millen A. Wiebold, 61, a lifelong resident of Iowa county, died suddenly at his home here last Wednesday afternoon. He had been in failing health in recent years.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Immmanuel Lutheran church in York twp., with Rev. Walter Streicher officiating. Music for the service was provided by the church choir with Norbert Wenzel at the organ. Pallbearers were Stanley Wiebold, Roy Wiebold, Robert Wiebold, Richard Wardenburg, Virgil Meyer, Roger Wardenburg. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Son of Herman [Wiebold] and Dorothea Newkirk, he was born in Iowa twp. May 8, 1903. He received the rite of baptism, and received his schooling at Immanuel Lutheran School. He was confirmed March 1918. He was married to Miss Martha Wardenburg April 5, 1927. They were engaged in farming in York Twp. until moving to Williamsburg in 1958.
Surviving are his wife; four children, Mrs. Raymond (Lillian) Sandersfeld of South Amana, Mrs. Robert (Darlene) Walter of Williamsburg, Dean Wiebold of Williamsburg, and Carolyn Wiebold; eleven grandchildren. Also seven brothers and sisters: Mrs. Frederick (Nora) Walter of Iowa City, Arnold and Erwin Wiebold of Williamsburg, Gilbert Wiebold of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Arnold (Cora) Wardenburg of Iowa City, Herman Wiebold of Amana, and Orville Wiebold of Cedar Rapids.
