Charles “Charlie” Allan Noaker, 83, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Hiawatha Care Center in Hiawatha, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, conducted by Pastor David Wise. Family will greet friends and family one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.

Charlie was born on April 5, 1939, in Marengo, Iowa, the son of Claude and Naomi (Schafbuch) Noaker. He was a graduate of Iowa Valley High School in Marengo, Iowa. On June 27, 1959, Charlie was united in marriage to Marcia Noaker in the Methodist Church in Marengo.

He worked at Quality Auto in Marion for 40 plus years in autobody repair. Charlie was a member of the Hawkeye Bass Club. He was an avid fisherman and an excellent woodworker, making each of his children a grandfather clock and a baby cradle for his granddaughter, Shea. Charlie loved Iowa Hawkeye football, camping, gardening, and country music. He especially loved and adored his granddaughter. Charlie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Charlie is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Marcia Noaker of Marion; four children, Shane (Gina Bessire) Noaker of Boise, Idaho, Steven Noaker, Kirsten (Jim) Smalley, and Brenda Meshak, all of Marion; granddaughter, Shea (Dalton Dieter) Smalley of Des Moines; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joanne (Clark) Rasmussen of Clive, Rosemary (Joe) Robbins of Ankeny, Drew (Sally) Disterhoft of Marengo, and Keith (Barbara) Disterhoft of Williamsburg; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marilyn Bell; son-in-law, Michael Meshak; and brother-in-law, Frank Disterhoft and his wife Charleen.

Memorials in Charlie’s memory may be made to Camp Courageous at 12007 190th Street in Monticello, Iowa, 52310.
