Patricia Louise Seye, 90, of Ladora passed away on May 4, 2022, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Mass of the Resurrection has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 9th, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Victor with Rev. Scott Lemaster presiding. Organist will be Verabeth Bricker and soloist will be Beth Henning. Pallbearers will be Joey, Kris, Shane, and Logan Seye, William Pyle, and Ken Blomme. Honorary bearers will be Andrew Putna and Darys Kriegel. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Victor.

Visitation with the Seye family present will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 8th, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be designated to St. Bridget Catholic Church.

Pat was born on September 24, 1931, near Brooklyn, the daughter of Ben and Florence Minnaert Stevens. She attended a rural school near her home and later in the Conroy Consolidated School District. She was a 1949 graduate of Conroy High School.

After high school, Pat was employed at Amana Refrigeration for a year.
On May 24, 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert Charles Seye, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Marengo. A union of 70 years! The couple lived in San Diego while Bob served in the United States Navy. They returned to Iowa County in 1956.

For many years, Pat was a homemaker and raised her six children while taking great pride in her home. Beginning in the mid-1970’s, she was employed at Ben Franklin’s in Williamsburg and later in the mailroom at Amana Refrigeration. She retired in 2000.

Pat’s family was very important to her; she attended all her grandchildren’s basketball, football, soccer, and volleyball games, wrestling meets, and music programs. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and refinishing furniture. She especially enjoyed traveling to Illinois and Wisconsin to see her daughters and grandchildren. She attended numerous USS Calvert Navy Ship Reunions throughout the country and hosted the Iowa Reunion in 2013.

Pat is survived by her husband, Robert of 70 years; her children, Joe (Joanie) Seye of Marengo, Steve Seye of Ladora, Jim Seye of New London, Sue (John) Putna of The Villages, Florida, Sandy Seye of Marengo, and Joan (Ernie) Pyle of Elkhorn, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Darys Kriegel, Kaitlyn (Eric) Disterhoft, Stephanie, Andrew (Kelly), and Katie Putna, Joey, Kris, Shane (Steph) Seye, Lily (Dalton) Hicks, William and Anna Pyle, and Logan (Katherine) Seye and Lindsey (Eric) Vander Wiel; her great-grandchildren; James Disterhoft, Jayde, Rylee, Lakynn, Octaveah, Freya, and Maxon Seye, Kane, Lexi, and Walker Seye, and Banx and Paxton Vander Wiel; a brother, Don (Janet) Stevens; sister-in-law’s, Gelene and Diane Stevens; and her sisters, Janet (Ken) Fish, Loretta Booth, Mary Mumm, Bev (Larry) Neswold, and Marcella Hilton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Florence (Minnaert) Stevens; her in-laws, William & Mary Seye; her brothers, LeRoy (Marlene), LaVerne, Gary (Judy), Tom, Bernie, and Dave Stevens; her brother-in-law’s Jack Booth, Gary Mumm, Gary Hilton; a grandson, Landon Seye; and a great-grandson, Grayson Seye.
