Linda Marie (Le Clere) Johnson, 69, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020, at the Villages of Marion. Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, with Fr. Ken Glaser presiding. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St., SW. Private family inurnment will be Ridgewood Cemetery, North Liberty.

Linda was born Feb. 2, 1951, to Robert and Jeanette (Zier) Le Clere in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1969. For many years, Linda was a stay-at-home mom to her three daughters who always will remember her for the loving and absolute unparalleled mom that she was. The only thing that Linda loved as much as her daughters were her grand-kids, Kyra (16) and Jacob (12). Being a grandma was the greatest joy of her life.

She retired in March 2015 from the C.R. Police Department where she had been an administrative secretary for 19 years. Prior to her time at the Police Department she had worked at Mercy Medical Center where several of her lifelong friendships were formed. Many of Linda's interests included being outdoors, fishing, gardening, camping and horseback riding. She had been a member of the C.R. Horseman's Club where she spent hours with her friends making happy memories. She also spent her time volunteering for the Honor Flight.

Linda is survived by her three daughters, Gina (Matt) Reynolds of Cedar Rapids, Jennifer Johnson (Gary Petrick) of Fairfax and Kelly (Sean) Kelly of La Porte City; a brother, Robert (Lilo) Le Clere; sisters Theresa Le Clere and Sharon (Ron) Folkmann; former husband, Ken Johnson (whom she married in 1974); and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ron and Harold.

We would like to give a special heartfelt thank-you to the staff at the Villages where Mom lived the last several months of her life, your patience and compassion were wonderful. The care that Mom received, and the support given to her family was astonishing and will never be forgotten. Please know how much it meant, especially in these last few weeks.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the AFTD, the Association of Frontotemporal Degeneration in Linda's honor. Please help in the research and cure of this horrible, life sucking, cruel, and completely unfair disease that took our mom away too early in her and our lives.

Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.broshchapel.com.
