North English- Deborah Mae Troyer was born August 28, 1960 in Sigourney, Iowa, the daughter of John R. & Carol Ruth (Lampert) Flanegan.

She graduated from English Valleys High School in 1978 and later went on to receive her A.A. Degree as a teacher associate from Kirkwood Community College.

On November 4, 1978 Deb was united in marriage to Gordon W. Troyer at the North English Christian Church, they made their home on the farm east of North English in the Green Valley area. Deb worked as a teacher's associate at Mary Welsh Elementary for many years, as well as helping Gordon on the farm.

Deb was a member of the North English Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning, quilting, fishing, crocheting, animals, cooking, baking and most of all spending time with her family. Deb died on Friday, November 2, 2018 at her home near North English, at the age of 58 years.

Deb is survived by her husband Gordon of North English; three sons Perry (Mary) Troyer of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Dustin (Carrie) Troyer of Parnell and Grant (Brittany)Troyer of North English; former daughter-in-law Ali Muse; 11 grandchildren: Vivian, Benson, Trenton, Gabby, Coltyn, Tynleigh, Addison, Kadence, Korbyn, Taylie & Karter; a brother James (Becky) Flanegan of Wellman; four sisters Vickie (Steve) Passmore of Kalona, Cindy (Barry) McCombs, Lori (Floyd) Hopkins all of North English and Lisa Johnson of Des Moines; special nieces & nephew Alesha, Whitney & Cody as well as numerous other nieces & nephews; and her mother-in-law Vivian Troyer of Wellman. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Danny Flanegan; and father-in-law Wilber Troyer.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the North English Christian Church in North English. Pastor Luke Caster will officiate. Burial will be in the Piersol Cemetery near North English. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. A general memorial fund has been established.
