Yvonne “Vonie” Price, age 89 of Marengo and formerly of Brooklyn, died on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Victor with Fr. David Wilkening presiding. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Victor.

Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be designated to Rose Haven Care Center in Marengo, mailed in care of the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 485, Victor, Iowa 52347. Memories and condolences may be shared with her family online at www.smithfh.com .

Yvonne Maxine VanGampleare was born on the family farm near Hartwick, Iowa on August 7, 1929 to Alphonse and Georgina Julienne (Satnat) VanGampleare. She was raised near Hartwick and attended Hartwick schools.

Yvonne was united in marriage to Russell Charles Price on June 11, 1947 at the Bethany Evangelical United Brethren Parsonage. The couple farmed near Brooklyn for many years.

When they retired from farming they moved to Brooklyn and Vonie volunteered at the Brooklyn Care Center and the Flag Store for many years. Russell and Vonie were avid bird watchers and spent their winters in Alamo, Texas for several years.

Yvonne is survived by her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell in 2011; and her siblings, Helena, Magdelina, John, Evelena, Irene, Lorraine, Albert, Delbert, Eugene and Vernon.
