Brian Arnold Schnebbe, 47, of Victor, and formerly of Pella, passed away in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his family on September 22, 2018. Brian was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive lung cancer on August 17, 2018. His battle with cancer was short, but courageous.

A memorial service has been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 29th, at the Victor United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Davis and Pastor Jason Larson, Pella United Methodist Church, officiating.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 26th at the Smith Funeral Home in Victor with the family present from 5:00 to 8:00 Wednesday evening.

Memorial contributions may be designated to the Brian A. Schnebbe Memorial Fund.

Brian was born on November 4, 1970, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Carl and Lynda Swindle Schnebbe. He was raised in the Williamsburg area and was a 1989 graduate of Williamsburg High School. He later received his BA degree at the University of Iowa and an MBA degree at Bellevue University, Bellevue, Nebraska.

On October 23, 1993, he was united in marriage with Jenny McGahuey, in Marengo. The couple lived in Pella for many years and moved to Victor in 2016.

Brian enjoyed many things in life. He loved his adventure days of hiking and biking with Jenny. He loved spending time with his kids and dinners with his family. His family was his world, and he was an incredible husband, father, uncle, son, and brother. You could often find Brian working from home or napping with his four legged bestie, Sadie. Brian was employed at Pella Corporation for over 20 years with people who became some of his closest friends. Brian had a love for running and road races that began with him winning the first ever Fourth of July 5k in Williamsburg while he was in high school. He ran his first marathon in 2010 and ran a half marathon with his daughter a few years later. Brian was thankful for the opportunity to give back to the community through coaching. He loved coaching and working with the athletes of HLV. Brian will be remembered for his immense love for his family and his constant involvement in their lives.

Brian is survived by his wife, Jenny, of nearly 25 years, of Victor; a son, Michael and a daughter, Nicole, both of Victor; his parents, Carl and Lynda Schnebbe of Belle Plaine; one sister, Christina Anderson of Blairstown; one brother, Scott Schnebbe of San Diego; his mother and father-in-law, Terry and Barb McGahuey of Ladora; one sister-in-law, Jessie and her husband, Ben Van Waus of Victor; and several nieces and nephews, Owen, Olivia, and Aiden Van Waus and Perry, Zane, and Lori Anderson. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Jacob Anderson; grandparents, Charles and Iva Swindle and Arnold and Esther Schnebbe; and his grandparents-in-law, John and Norma McGuire.
