Marilyn Rae Konicek, 81, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away Thurs., Aug. 30, 2018 at the Belle Plaine Specialty Care Center. Services are 10:30 a.m. Tues., Sept. 4, 2018 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Belle Plaine with Deacon Joe Behounek officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.hrabakfuneralhome.com

Marilyn was born May 26, 1937 to Raymond J. and Maxine (McGrew) Busher in rural Iowa County.

She graduated from Belle Plaine High School. Following high school, she attended Iowa State Teaching College in Cedar Falls.

On June 21, 1958 Marilyn married Duane Robert Konicek at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. Marilyn worked various jobs including Citizens Bank in Belle Plaine until her partial retirement. After retirement, she volunteered at St. Michael's Church and other entities around town. She enjoyed quilting which she participated in different quilting groups, crocheting, knitting, craft work, and helping out the church in any way she could including cantoring.

She is survived by her husband, Duane; aunt, Muriel; 1 niece; 3 nephews and many devoted cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Raymond R. Busher; nephew, Bradley; 2 aunts and 5 uncles. Born: May 26, 1937 Death: August 30, 2018
