Graveside services for Larry D. Waddell, 82, Marengo, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Marengo Cemetery, Marengo. He died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at the Marengo Memorial Hospital.

The Rev. Anni Thorn will officiate at the service.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Kloster Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.

Larry Douglas Waddell was born Dec. 25, 1934, in Iowa City, the son of Arthur Douglas Waddell and Florence Marjorie Mohr Waddell. He graduated from Marengo High School in 1953 and married Janice Shaull on Feb. 13, 1956, at the First Presbyterian Church, Marengo.

He owned and operated the Marengo Monument Company from 1953 until 1994. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Marengo. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.

Waddell is survived by his wife, Janice; sons, Kevin, Williamsburg; Brett, Marengo, and Kerry Todd (Lesa), Marengo; five grandchildren, Nick, Sara, Emily, Abby and Jon; a great-grandchild, Harper Ann, and a sister Sandra Witte (Lloyd), Coralville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
