Sigourney- Gloria Jean Young was born August 11, 1947 in Bonaparte, Iowa, the daughter of John Willis & Nellie Madeline (Greer) Goff. She graduated from Highland High School in 1966.

On January 27, 1973 Gloria was united in marriage to Richard Arlo Young in Bonaparte. She worked at the Grocery Sack, Bucky's and the English Valley Care Center. Gloria was a member of the South English Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafts, painting and gardening. Gloria died on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City at the age of 70 years.

She is survived by her children Bill (Terri) Young of Sigourney, Russ (Mary) Young of Oskaloosa, Mary Brissee of Sigourney, Scott (Lauri) Young of Ketchum, OK and Galen (Cara) Young of Cedar Rapids; 18 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; a brother Fred (Mabel) Goff of Fruitland; and a sister Geneva Goff of Washington. She was preceded by her parents; husband Richard; daughter Stefanie Young; 3 grandchildren Timmy McCoid, Travis Filben and Tristan Furgason; and a sister Nellie Showman.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 10 am on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Powell Funeral Home, North English. Scott Young will officiate.
