Funeral Services For Mrs. Stewart Held January 17
Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon in the Christensen Funeral Home for Mrs. Lillian Stewart, 86, who died in an Ida Grove nursing home the previous Monday. Mrs. Stewart had lived at Battle Creek approximately seventy years. Rev. Albert C. J. Kellow officiated and Mrs. Alvin Iversen played the organ. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were: William Lampe, Albert Boysen, Ernest Carlson, John Schmidt, Elmer Rickman and Clay Williamson. Mrs. Stewart was born at Burlington, Kans., December 25, 1866. She came to Iowa with her parents, Noah and Mary Wilson, in 1880 and had made her home in Battle Creek most of the time since that date. She was the youngest of six children. October 22, 1883, she was married to James Stewart. They were parents of three children. Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Clyde Jones of San Francisco, Calif., and Mrs. Paul Christensen of Plymouth, Mich.,; a grandson, Capt. James Wilson Jones, and two great grandsons. Preceding her in death were her husband, their son, Richard; her parents, four brothers, and one sister.
