Mrs. F. L. [Forest L.] McKay Expires Sunday Morning, Popular Young Matron of This Community

A distinct and severe community loss was sustained this week in the death of Mrs. Lyle McKay, one of the popular young matrons of northwestern Corwin township, whose life passed from earthly surrounding' into the fellowship of its Creator at 5:30 Sunday morning, October 25. Mrs. McKay has been seriously ill at the Battle Creek hospital for two weeks or more, but hope was entertained for her ultimate recovery until the. Wednesday preceding her death.

The funeral will be held at two o’clock this afternoon, October 28 at the home of her stricken parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Forney on Seventh street, Ida Grove. Rev. Jinkerson of the Church of God will conduct the services.

Emma Cecelia Forney was born December 18, 1898, on the old home place near Ida Grove where she spent her early childhood. She. would have been 27 years old the coming December.

In the spring of 1906, she moved with her parents to Ida Grove and attended the local schools until she was fifteen. She then accompanied her parents to Imperial, California, where she graduated at the age of sixteen. She was married on October 9, 1918, to F. L. McKay, and to this union two sons were born, Robert Lyle, 5 years, and George William, ten days.

Under the pastorate of Rev. Yates, she was converted and become a member of the Church of God. Her amiable and loving disposition gained many friends in every field of service she undertook. She was a prominent worker in the Farm Bureau activities in her community and gave liberally of her time and talents. She was a member of Ida Grove Rebekah Lodge No. 264, Maple Chapter O. E. S. and the past Noble Grand club of Ida Grove.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her beloved husband, F. L. McKay, two sons, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Forney Sr. one sister, Mrs. Margaret Bosore of Denver, three brothers, M. J. Forney, W. C. Forney and Frank Forney.
