Third Death In Campbell Family
Thirteen Year Old Arveen Campbell Dies Friday After Short Illness
Battle Creek, IA., Dec 31, - Death came into the Campbell family the third time in three weeks, when Arveen Campbell passed away Friday morning, Dec 26th at 2:30 o’clock. She had just recovered from the chicken pox, when she developed a cold and brain fever set in. She was ill only a few hours, turning for the worse late Christmas day. People of this vicinity are deeply grieved to learn of the passing of this sunny lass. Arveen was the older daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P.A. Campbell and was born and raised here. She attended the Battle Creek school and was in the eighth grade. She was 13 years old. Arveen was a member of the girl scouts and of the Presbyterian Sunday school. She was a sweet child and will be greatly missed by relatives, friends and schoolmates. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Campbell, one sister Carol, her grandfather, Dave Warnock. She was the niece of Congressman and Mrs. Ed. H. Campbell, of Jed Campbell, of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Campbell, of Mrs. Byrdena Pepper, of Mr. and Mrs. O. O. Spotts, of Mrs. Margaret Rollins, of Joe Warnock, and of Gene Warnock of Merrill. Funeral services were held at the Campbell home Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Claude Fausnaugh in charge. Russell Flory, Gary Wolcott, Maryin Summons, Fred Borow, Elmer Shoning, Max Baird acted as pall bearers. Miss Dorothy Carlson, Margie Empey, Faye Brown and Mrs. Guy Warnock and Miss Edith Hansmann had charge of the many beautiful flowers. Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brenner of Merrill, Dr. Warnock and Larry of Sioux City, Gene Warnock and wife and son of Merrill, Congressman Ed. H. Campbell of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Ferne Spotts Arney of Sioux City. Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Campbell have been ill since the passing of their daughter but are somewhat improved. Mrs. Campbell was ill at the time of her daughter’s death and the shock has been very severe. A physician was in attendance during the funeral.
