Funeral services for Virginia Marie Lansing, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Lansing of Bode, took place Monday, April 8th at the Lansing home and at the Lutheran church. Interment was in the Lutheran cemetery.

Virginia Lansing was born November 5, 1916, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Lansing. She grew up in Bode and graduated from Bode High School with the class of 1934.

Besides her parents, survivors are two sisters: Donna Bell and Beverly and her brother Paul.

Virginia Lansing was popular among the young people in Bode and vicinity. While in school she took part in various activities and played on the Bode girls basketball team which played in the state tournament last year.

Pall bearers were six of her classmates: Lafe Larson, Sigfried Espeland, Lowell Gray, Woodrow Jensen, Pearl Johnson and Miles Torgerson.

Virginia Lansing, 18, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Lansing, farmers living east of Bode was instantly killed in an auto accident Friday night on Primary No. 10, east of Dakota City. The car was driven by Oscar Christensen of Bode and crashed into a cement pillar of an under pass. Priscilla Ferris of Rutland suffered a broken nose, shoulder blade and bruises and Charles Lewis escaped injury in the crash. Christensen suffered head and leg injuries. The young people were on their way home from a dance in Humboldt.
