Anna Mae Moravetz, 88, of Cresco, IA, died on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at her home.

Anna Mae was born February 3, 1935 to Reuben and Emma (Havel) Moravetz, whom she cared for up until the end of their lives. She grew up on a small farm on the Schley Road about 10 miles northwest of Protivin and attended school through the 8th grade. Anna Mae spent a lot of time gardening, mowing and taking meticulous care of her yard. Her roots were planted deep into the soil where she was born and raised. She couldn’t read Czech, but she was fluent in speaking Czech.

Anna Mae is survived by several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Emma Moravetz.

Funeral Mass for Anna Mae will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Holy Trinity Parish in Protivin, IA with Father Nick Radloff officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. at the church on Saturday morning, with the Recitation of the Rosary starting at 10. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
