Ron Wright, age 71, of Cresco, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Regional Health Services of Howard County in Cresco, Iowa.

Private graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery near Gays Mills, Wisconsin.

Ronald Robert Wright was born in Manchester, Iowa on July 19, 1949 to Orville and Augusta (Baldwin) Wright.

Ron was a trucker at heart. He spent many years of his life driving truck, including hauling milk. He had a strong work ethic and always gave 100 percent. He loved to keep busy. Whether it was mowing lawn, moving snow, taking the Tool Cat for a spin or driving vehicles for the local car dealers; Ron loved to be behind the wheel.

Ron enjoyed spending time outdoors. You could find him fishing the local streams and ponds, driving around looking at the wildlife and everything nature had to offer. He made instant friends with any black lab he met, keeping a stash of dog treats in the truck for those special visits. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting. And later in life, he was content feeding the deer and squirrels, with the hundreds of ears of corn that he would shell in his garage.

He liked to keep a small garden, planting tomato and cucumber plants. Not only to eat, but to share with his friends, always keeping track of his produce totals for the season.

Ron looked forward to football season, always glued to the television if the Green Bay Packers or Wisconsin Badgers were playing. It was best not to call him until the game was over.

Cresco became home to Ron in 2007. This is where he made many wonderful friendships. Ron’s circle was small, but it was tight. He enjoyed spending time with the early morning coffee crew at Sue-Z-Q’s. He could talk trucking and share over the road stories for hours with the “trucking boys”. He enjoyed many meals and special events together with dear friends. He will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched, including his special friends Ordel and Julie Stinson and their families.

He is survived by two sons, Bobby and Russell Wright and their families.
