Lydia Ann Baker was born in Pollett, Rutland county, Vermont, in the year 1821, coming to Wisconsin with her parents at the age of sixteen years. She was married to Peter Noblet at the age of nineteen years or in 1840, They moved to Howard county, Iowa, in 1868, locating on the place where she lived for forty-eight years, her husband preceding her in death twenty-one years ago. Nine children were born to this union, seven having preceded her in death, leaving two daughters, Sarah A. Noblet, at home and Mary Adams, of Florenceville, Iowa, besides two grandchildren, Ashley M. Noblet, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Roy C. Noblet, of Madrid, Iowa, and seven great grandchildren. She died November 16th, at the age of 95 years and 13 days.
