Cresco relatives have received news of the death on Monday of the three-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Howard, former Cresco residents, now residing near Monticello, Minn. The remains will be brought to Cresco for interment, the funeral being held this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the M. E. church.

Merwin John Howard, eldest son of John B. and Martha A. Howard, was born at Monticello, Minn., Dec. 1st 1912, and died Feb. 8, 1916. A notable element in his nature was unselfishness and thoughtfulness of others, seldom seen in one of his tender years.
An attack of appendicitis of one short week was the cause of his death.
Funeral services were held from the M. E. church Friday afternoon at 1:30, by Rev. Gammons and Rev. Kirwin.
