Death of Charles W. Foster.
Charles Wellington Foster, father of Mrs. Robert Despard, died at her home in Le Roy, Friday. Deceased was a native of Canada and was born in 1834. When twenty years of age he came to Iowa locating with his parents near Cresco. In 1860 he married Mary C. Blodgett and to this union four children were born: Mrs. John Warren, of Nora Springs, Iowa; Mrs. Despard; Charles V. Foster, Mrs. Jennie Judd, of Cresco. The latter died in 1903. He leaves also a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a kind father and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The funeral was held at the Despard home, Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Gross and interment was in the local cemetery.
Those present, at the funeral from out of town were: Fred Farley and wife and Mrs. Jessie Our, of Austin; Mrs. Bickford, Algie Despard and wife, Mrs. Porter and Chas. Foster and son, all of Cresco.—Le Roy Independent.
