Family research as of September 2012
Thomas Francis Dargan born March 12, 1917 at Jamestown, Howard, Iowa to Thomas
Jefferson Dargan and Mary Helen Maruska, the second of four children. His
siblings were: Margaret Mary (born June 21, 1915 Lourdes, Howard, Iowa, died
March 5, 2008 Shakopee, Scott, Minnesota); Cletus Joesph (born January 12,
1920, Jamestown, died February 12, 1920 same); and John Edward Dargan (born
October 21, 1921 Jamestown, died February 17, 1922 same).

Found Thomas in the 1920 to 1930 censuses living at Jamestown, Howard, IA:
1920: Thomas J Dargan 51, Mary H Dargan 26, Margaret M Dargan 4[4 6/12],
Thomas F Dargan 2[2 10/12], Margaret A Maruska 23, Harry J Hecht 33. 1925:
Tohmas Dargan 56, Mary Dargan 30, Thomas Dargan 8. 1930: Tom J Dargin 61,
Thomas F Dargin 13, Mary A Dargin 80, Elizabeth A Bohan 58.
1935: Lived at Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa.

Found in the 1940 census at Waterloo, Black Hawk, Iowa: Thomas Dargin 23,
working as a laborer at Rath Packing Plant. 8th grade education.

Thomas joined the US Navy and served 22 years. He fought in WWII, Korea and
Vietnam wars.

Thomas married Margaret Laura Heppler on June 17, 1951 at St Philip Nero
Catholic Church, Alameda, California. The couple had 5 children, 1 boy and 4
girls. Lived much of his adult life at San Diego, California.

Thomas Francis Dargan died October 4, 2007 at San Diego, California and is
buried at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, California, CBI Row
2, site 858.
