OBITUARY.
MEYER
Eliza Suhrbeer was born March 15, 1847, at Eldena, Mecklenburg, Germany, where she grew up to womanhood. In 1879 she arrived with two of her sisters at Clayton county, Iowa, where she was married, Oct. 11th, of the same year to her surviving husband, Conrad Meyer. They were blessed with four children, one son and three daughters. In March 1890, the family settled in this county, and after living a few years on a rented farm, purchased the farm known as the Meyer homestead where deceased lived, until a year ago her husband on account of her failing health retired from active life and moved to Cresco. Since March last she was mostly confined to her bed, until Tuesday last, the 2nd of July, she quietly and peacefully passed away. Funeral services were held at Immanuel’s Lutheran church, Friday morning and interment was at Saratoga cemetery.
