Bonnie Ruud, age 72 of Lime Springs, Iowa passed away at her home on Friday, March 23, 2018.

Bonnie Lou Ruud was born January 10, 1947 in Austin, MN to Alfred and Ethel (Fisher) Bastian. Bonnie grew up in Rockford Illinois where she attended East High School. She married Valentine Chevchuc; to this union 2 sons were born: John and Shawn, they later divorced. She later married Steven Ruud and they later divorced.

While living in Rockford Bonnie operated the tool shop at Cotta Transmissions in Rockford. She later was a nurse’s aide at the Ostrander, MN nursing home. She also worked at Featherlite in Cresco for a couple years. Bonnie loved being outdoors, she was an avid fisherman, enjoyed working in the yard and gardening from which she canned it’s produce. She also loved word search puzzles, cooking and her devoted dog, Smokey.

Bonnie is survived by her two sons: John Chevchuc and fiancé Jennifer Beu of Beloit, WI, Shawn Chevchuc of Sandstone, MN and his significant other, Belinda Douglas; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three siblings: Gaylen (Patricia) Bastian of Rockford, IL, Robert (Ginger) Bastian of LeRoy, MN and Cheryl (Carl) Miller of Chester, IA; and five nieces and nephews.
