Obituary.
Mrs. Mary Thompson, daughter of Peter and Gunhild Ulrikson Solberg, was born Sept. 29, 1853, in Winneshiek County, Iowa. About 31 years ago she was united in marriage with Ralph Thompson, and nine children came to bless this union, of whom two died in infancy and a daughter, Clara, about three and one-half years ago. Mrs. Thompson had been in failing health for a number of years, and during the past year she had been confined to her bed almost all of the time. She passed away on the morning of May 25, 1907, surrounded by her husband and all of the surviving children with the exception of Mrs. John R. Hughes who but recently returned to her home in Garfield, Wash., after an extended stay at the parental home, and all of whom survive to cherish the memory of a kind and affectionate wife and mother.
The funeral was conducted at the house and at the church by her pastor, Rev. O. Otterson, Wednesday afternoon. Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
A choir consisting of Misses Hammond and Webster and Messrs. Patterson and Morton sang during the funeral service and were accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Clyde Mitchell.

Transcriber’s Note: Oak Lawn Cemetery records show her maiden name as Salisbury instead of Solberg.
