Richard Cummins, a son of Thos. Cummins of this place, who is a Sergeant of police in Chicago was badly injured last Thursday, being knocked down and run over by a teamster while engaged in quelling a disturbance on one of the business corners, due to the teamsters' strike. He was taken to the Alexian hospital. Joseph Hayes and wife, the latter a sister of Mr. Cummins, and his brother William Cummins went to Chicago last week, the former Saturday evening and the latter Friday evening, on account of the serious condition of Mr. Cummins.
