Stella Geneva Knutson Natvig, age 95 of Cresco, Iowa, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the Regional Health Services in Cresco surrounded by her family.

Stella was born October 28, 1922 in rural Howard County. Stella was baptized at Jerico Lutheran Church and later confirmed in her faith by H.M. Tjernagel. Stella attended a country school and later graduated from New Hampton High School, in 1940. During high school she worked at Kelson’s Ben Franklin dime store. Following graduation, she worked at the Chickasaw County Courthouse in New Hampton in various capacities.

In 1945 she married Kenneth O. Natvig at Jerico Lutheran Church and they farmed on his parents’ farm near Saude, Iowa until 1995, when they retired and moved to Cresco.

Stella was a member of Saude Lutheran Church. She was active in the Saude Lutheran Ladies Aid and Bethany Auxiliary, where she also served as an officer on numerous occasions. She was a devoted housewife and mother and enjoyed baking and cooking and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, her parents Carl and Anna Knutson, and her brother Kenneth (Frances). She is survived by her children Kendall Natvig of Miami Beach, FL, Oakleigh Natvig (former daughter-in-law Holly) of Cresco, Sharon (Natvig) Burk of Springfield, MO, two grandchildren Kendra (Steve) Martin and Jonathan Natvig (Eva), great grandchildren Easton Martin and Brennan Martin, one niece Kimberly Beard and two nephews Terry and Gerry Knutson, and one brother-in-law, Donald Dahlke.

Memorials may be given to Saude Lutheran Church or donor designation.
