Frank Shaffer died last Saturday morning and his funeral was held Monday morning from the German Catholic church. Mr. Shaffer was one of the old settlers of this county, and his whole life was so ordered as to win the confidence and esteem of all who made his acquaintance.

Frank Shafer died at his home in Cresco Saturday morning at twenty minutes past twelve, after an illness of a short period.
Deceased was born in Germany, Aug. 7, 1834; came to this country in 1854. He was united in marriage to Barbara Fye the 10th of June, 1865, and moved on his farm four miles south of town, thence moved in town and made his home for twelve years.
He leaves a wife and seven children, six sons and one daughter, to mourn his loss.
