Margaret M. Pisny, age 98, of Cresco and formerly of Lime Springs passed away Friday morning, August 3, 2018 at Accura Care Center in Cresco.

Margaret M. Pisny was born Sept 24, 1919 to John J. and Josephine (Bouska) Meyer in rural Lime Springs, Iowa. Margaret attended Lime Springs public school through the eighth grade then helped her parents with the family farm until her marriage. Margaret and Joseph J. Pisny were married March 27, 1940 in St. Stephens Catholic Church, Chester, Iowa. Joseph preceded her in death on October 14, 1991. Margaret was an active member of the Altar and Rosary society of St. Stephens Catholic Church in Chester of which she was a life-long member until it’s closing she then became a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Cresco. Margaret was also a charter member of the Chester Senior Citizens. In 2010 Margaret moved to Accura Care Center where she enjoyed all of their activities.

Margaret is survived by one sister, Elaine Munkel of Cresco, IA, a sister-in-law, Ione Meyer of Cresco, IA along with nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph, siblings: Luella (Dr. Jack) Frost, Wilma F. (Mose) Owen, Edward (Edith) Meyer, Earl, and Robert Meyer; a brother-in-law Lawrence Munkel.
