Mrs. Thomson was a quiet, home woman, with an affectionate and self- sacrificing regard for her family. She had been in failing health for the past three years and the past winter was spent in California in quest of restored health, but without benefit.
The funeral will be at the house this Friday morning at 10 o’clock: interment in Oak Lawn. Rev. Holmes officiating.

Sarah Evelyn Tillson.
Sarah Evelyn Tillson was born in Waukesha, Wis. May 12, 1854. She was the daughter of Mortimer R. and Sarah Tillson. Her girlhood days were spent at home with her parents. In 1875 she removed with her parents to Cresco, Iowa, and lived with them on the farm just at the outskirts of the city.
In Dec. 16, 1879, she was united in marriage with Mr. Robt. Thomson of Pittsburgh, Penn. She removed with her husband immediately after their marriage to her home in the city of Pittsburgh. But she longed for the green fields, the wild flowers and the home folks in Iowa. In 1886 Mr. and Mrs. Thomson removed their home from Pittsburgh to Cresco. They settled at first on the old farm where they were married, but soon removed their residence into the city.
Six children have been born to Mr. and Mrs. Thomson—-Robert, Sarah, Arthur, William, Percy and Mary. All these survive their mother, except a son, William, who died in infancy. Her sister, Mrs. H. E. Lomas, and her brothers, Pembroke, Geo. And Wm. Tillson, also live to mourn her loss.
Her last illness was a long and painful one, and in spite of deepest love and tenderest care, Rest and Repose came on the morning of Wednesday, May 21, 1902.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. Holmes were held at the home Friday, at 10:30, and were attended by a large number of neighbors and friends. The floral offerings were very beautiful. As a mark of respect, the city banks were closed during the funeral hour.
Another wife and mother has passed away and many hearts will linger and recall her kind words and acts bestowed upon them by her. “Her children in the midst of their grief will rise up to call her blessed.”
The friends from a distance who came to attend the funeral were her brother, P. S. Tillson, Manitowoc, Wis.; Wm. Thomson and wife, Austin, Minn.; Mrs. John Thomson and son Will from Milwaukee; Miss Etta Hess, Albert Lea, Minn.; John W. Scott, Austin, Minn.

Transcriber’s Note; Her name is shown two different ways above; however, her gravestone shows Eva S.
