Services held tor Lillian Stepan, 94
Funeral services for Lillian Stepan were held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19 at the Assumption Worship Center in Cresco with Rev. Henry W. Charipar officiating. Interment was in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Spillville. Pallbearers were her grandchildren: Kenneth Hyke, Frankie Kamik, Richard McGee, Ray Stepan, David Stepan, and Jason Stepan. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Lillian, 94, died Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, where she has made her home since September 1999.
Lillian A. Stepan was born August 17, 1907 in Howard County, between Cresco and Protivin, the daughter of Ludwig and Agnes (Andera) Pecinovsky. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin. She attended the rural school near her home through the fifth grade and then had to stay home and help with the chores.
On October 16, 1928 she married John J. Stepan in the Holy Trinity Church in Protivin. She continuted{sic} to work on the farm as the hired hand.
She gardened and canned the produce, baked, and enjoyed embroidering and crocheting.
She is survived by her children: Agnes McGee of Cresco, Lillian Kamik of Spillville, Ed of West Union, T.J. of Nashua, and W.W. of St. Louis MO; 32 grandchildren; 18 step grandchildren; 38 greatgrandchildren; 10 step greatgrandchildren; and six step great-greatgrandchildren .
Lillian was preceded in death by one grandson; four greatgrandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild; and three brothers: John, James F., and Leo; and one sister: Agnes Komarek.
