Elmer Kemmer services held
Funeral services for Elmer “Gene” Kemmer were held on Sunday, March 3 at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Lime Springs with Rev. Tim Walker officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs.
Elmer died Wednesday, February 27, 2002 at Regional Health Services of Howard County.
Elmer E. Kemmer was born April 24, 1925 in Pocahontas, the son of John Joseph and Rosella (Schall) Kemmer. Gene graduated from Havelock High School. He entered the Merchant Marine and served his country until 1948.
On October 17, 1949 he married Irma Roberg in Wheaton, MN. Gene worked on construction usually as a welder. They lived in North Dakota, Pocahontas, Lanesboro, MN, and moved to Lime Springs in 1963.
He is survived by his wife Irma; one daughter: Barbara of Coon Rapids, MN; one brother: Lawrence of Emmetsburg; and one sister: Angela Garniss of Thomaston, ME.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers: Jack, Vincent, and Peter.
