Abner Franz Sigel Bly.
Deceased was born Dec. 24, 1863, at New Oregon, Howard county, Iowa. He spent his early days on the farm with his father, On May 17, 1888, he was married to Elmira Weightman in Cresco, Iowa. There were born to them three children.
In 1891 he removed with his wife to Illinois. In 1892 he settled in Nunda. Here he made his home to the time of his death. About two years ago he began to have pulmonary troubles and for the last seven months was confined to his bed. All was done that a kind and
loving wife could do to battle against the dreaded monster, death, but to no avail, for on Sunday morning, Sept. 12, he suddenly passed away. A father, who was with him for the last seven months, and two sisters, a brother, wife and three children mourn his departure.
Mr. Bly was well known in our community and was held in high esteem as a man of the strictest honor and integrity. He was a faithful member of the I. O. O. F., and held many friends. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Oeschger, Interment was made in the Union cemetery.—Herald, Nunda, Ill.
