Irene Moe, 88, of Cresco, IA passed away on Thursday, November 04, 2010 at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, IA

Irene was born on July 30, 1922 to Emil and Olene (Hovey) Christians in Winneshiek County, IA. After high school Irene completed training at the American Business Institute in Des Moines. During the war years she worked for the Transportation Department. Near the end of the war she returned to Cresco and served as a Deputy Clerk of Court for Howard County.
Irene and John Moe were married in Cresco on September 6, 1953. As a military wife, she lived and traveled in Europe and in many areas of the United States, including Alaska. After retiring from the military, the family settled in Cresco.
Irene continued to work as a legal secretary for Elwood and Elwood, and for the title abstract company. She also worked in the high school library and after retiring, was called back to complete a term as Clerk of Court.
She was preceded in death by her parents Emil and Olene Christians and her brother Roger Christians.

Memorials:
Memorials in lieu of flowers can be made to the Cresco Public Library, Winneshiek Medical Center Hospice Program or Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Cemetery:
A private family burial at Oak Lawn Cemetery will take place at a later date.

Visitation:
Friends may call two hours prior to services at the church on Monday.

Service:
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco, IA on Monday, November 8, 2010.
