Obituary from the River Falls Journal

Marie Falteisek, 96, of Ellsworth, died on Feb. 6, 1988 at the River Falls Area Hospital.

She was born March 18, 1891 in Cresco, Iowa to John and Verona (Dvorak) Kubicek.

She married Adolph Kakac on Aug. 18, 1910 in Cresco, Iowa. He died April 21, 1930.

She then married Joseph Falteisek Sr. on June 23, 1931 in Ellsworth. They farmed in the Trimbelle area. She took pride in her garden and the poultry she raised.

Joseph died Sept. 1, 1969. In the spring of 1972 she moved to Ellsworth and lived with her two sons on North Maple Street. In August of 1984 she moved into the Piety Convalescent Home in Ellsworth where she remained until she suffered a stroke on Jan. 31.

She is survived by four sons; Edward Kakac of Rice Lake, Walter Kakac of Ellsworth, Kenneth Kakac of Frederic and Raymond Falteisek of Ellsworth; four step-sons, Emil Falteisek of Stillwater, Minn., Rudolph Falteisek of Everett, Wash., Joseph Falteisek Jr. of Ellsworth and Frank Richard Falteisek of Prescott; two step-daughters: Mildred (Mrs. Emil) Urbanski and Josephine (Mrs. George) Drevnick, both of St. Paul; one granddaughter Karen Kakac; 27 step-grandchildren and 23 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys Malone and a son LeRoy Falteisek.

Visitation was held Feb. 9 at the Winberg mcLaughlin Funeral Home. The funeral was held there on Feb. 10. Interment will be at Cresco, Iowa.
