Cresco Plain Dealer Nov. 3, 1916 P-6 C-2

Married.
At high noon on Monday, October 30, 1916, at the German Lutheran parsonage, Rev. John Pless officiating, occurred the marriage of Mr. Will Rakow and Miss Hazel Yarrington.
The groom is a sturdy and industrious young man of good habits and character, and well worthy of the fair bride he has won. He was attended by his brother, Albert, who acted as best man. Both were attired in blue serge suits.
The bride is a good and charming girl and has all of the qualifications of a good wife. She was beautifully gowned in a white silk crepe de chien dress, trimmed with shadow lace and messaline, and carried a bouquet of white roses. She was attended by her sister, Florence, who wore a dress of pink China silk and carried a bouquet of pink carnations.
The groom is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Rakow, living east of town, and the bride is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Yarrington, of Cresco. Both of these young people have lived in or near Cresco from childhood up.
Immediately after the wedding ceremony, the young people were taken by auto to the home of the groom’s parents where an elaborate wedding dinner had been prepared and was in waiting for them. Forty invited guests were seated at this wedding feast.
The home was beautifully decorated in pink and white and a large wedding bell hung from the center of the room, while smilax and chrysantheums adorned the tables.
As a climax to this affair, a wedding dance was given in the W. O. W. hall in the evening where invited guests to the number of one hundred or more enjoyed themselves till the wee hours of morn.
The bride and groom were the recipients of many and useful and beautiful presents, as tokens of the esteem of their friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Rakow left for Austin, Minn., Wednesday noon, where Mr. Rakow has a good position. The best wishes of a host of friends follow them to their new home.
