Conway-Fallgatter Wedding.
The Immaculate Conception Church was the scene of a pretty wedding, Tuesday morning, June 6th, when Miss Doris Fallgatter, daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Fallgatter, became the bride of Mr. Edward Conway.
Several friends of both parties witnessed the ceremony which was performed by Rev. F. J. Gunn.
With the Mendelssohn wedding march, Miss Maud Deegan announced the bridal party and during the mass Miss Luella Devereaux sang “Oh Promise Me” and the wedding hymn, “Faithful and True.
The bride wore a simple white net dress and veil in Normandy style.
The bridesmaid, Miss Laura Fink, of Northfield, Minn., an intimate friend of the bride, wore a gown of yellow crepe de chene and a black picture hat.
Mr. Leo Conway, brother of the groom, acted as best man.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother.
A color scheme of pink and green was carried out in the decorations of the home, and the tables were decorated with smilax and pink candles.
Assisting in the dining room were the Misses Mabel Sullivan, Alice Church, and Luella and Fannie Devereaux; following the dinner, Miss Ena Mahoney passed the wedding cake.
The out-of-town wedding guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Dick Woods, Mr. and Mrs. Will Milz, Mr. and Mrs. John Byrnes, and Miss Julia Byrnes, of Cresco, Mrs. Charles Conway, of Oelwein, Miss Lera Dunton, of Riceville, and the Misses Alice and Florence Wylam, of Nashua.
Mr. and Mrs. Conway have lived in Elma all their lives where they have grown up to manhood and womanhood among their many friends who now wish for them the best life has to offer.
Mrs. Conway is a bright and capable young woman and is well fitted to take up the responsibilities that are before her.
Mr. Conway is a partner with his father in the furniture business, and has already proved his worth as a business man.
Mr. Conway and his bride left for Spirit Lake and Lake Okoboji where they will spend a few days and then go the Twin Cities. Upon their return home, they will immediately go to housekeeping.—Elma New Era.
