I am looking for genealogy information on Joseph Moore - he is my great-great-great grandfather.

Joseph Moore -> John Moore -> William J Moore -> Willard C Moore -> Margery N Moore -> ME!!

The Mt. Pleasant web site identifies Joseph Moore as follows "In 1834, Presley Saunders, Joseph Moore, Barlett Williams, and a Mr. Walters with his sons came to the area that is now Mt. Pleasant. Saunders staked his claim and expressed his intention to start a town. In 1835, Saunders returned with his family and constructed a log cabin near a spring in what is now know as Saunders Park. Joseph Moore arrived back at about the same time and built the first structure within the limits of Saunders' new village of Mt. Pleasant. Moore's log home, out of which he also operated a store, was located at the northeast corner of Jefferson and Monroe, the present location of the building commonly known as the Hayes Insurance Building."

I am confident this is correct because Thomas E Moore, who was John Moore's brother, and member of the Iowa 4th regiment cavalry company C, had identified on his obituary:

"born in Mt. Pleasant, Ia., where his father built the first house."

I would appreciate information as it is known!

Thanks in advance.
