Verdella Grace Miller
(December 9, 1915 - February 23, 2003)

Verdella Grace Miller, 87 of Wayland, died Sunday, February 23, 2003 at the Hearthstone Rehab Center in Sun City AZ.
Funeral Services have been set for 10:30 A.M. Friday, February 28, 2003 at the Bethel Mennonite Church north of Wayland with the Rev. Phil Slabaugh officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the Bethel Mennonite Church with the family receiving friends from 6-8:00 P.M. in the evening. Beatty Funeral Home of Wayland is assisting with the arrangements. Memorials in the name of Verdella Grace Miller may be designated to the Bethel Mennonite Church.

Verdella was born December 9, 1915 in Seward Co. Nebraska the daughter of William and Lydia (Steckly) Eicher. She graduated from Milford High School and was valedictorian of her class at College. On October 4, 1936 she was united in marriage to Milton Miller at her parents home in Milford, Nebraska.

Verdella was a faithful member of the Bethel Mennonite Church, where she was Church historian, taught Sunday school and bible school. She was a LPN and assistant administrator at the Parkview Home in Wayland for over twenty years. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, music, crossword puzzles and writing journals.

Survivors include three sons, Donald and wife Joan of Wayland, William Miller and wife Donna of Wayland and Ray Miller and wife Iris of Salida, Colorado; two brothers, Lloyd Eicher and wife Eldora of Littleton, Colorado and Floyd Eicher and wife Marie of Redlands, California; two sisters, Teresa Burkey and husband Perry of Hesston, Kansas and Violet Troyer of Harper, Kansas; one sister-in-law Christa Eicher of Chandler, Arizona; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She was precede in death by her parents, husband Milton, July 19, 1998, two brothers, Elis Eicher and Dr. Walter Eicher, one sister Laverta Schwitzer, one grandson, Michael Lee and great-granddaughter Ashley Zieglowsky.
